Class rules are simply these:

1. Be KIND. It's a lot easier to be nice than it is to be not-nice. Be nice.
2. Get to class on time. If you're not in class the second the bell rings, I will lock the door and you will be getting a detention for being tardy.
3. Clean up after yourself - this includes the table, floor, sink, etc. If you drop something, helllloooo - Mom isn't here to clean it up for you! Take responsibility.
4. Respect. That means respect me, the room, the equipment, the other students - you know, EVERYTHING and EVERYONE!
5. Be Honest. If you break something, own up. If you find something that belongs to someone else, turn it in....

Grading Policy

Students are graded as follows:
75% = projects/assignments
25% = participation

Most projects are graded according to rubrics. Below is an example of generic rubric

A++ (6) Worthy of a grade beyond an A!  Totally awesome!

A (5)

Wow! Does MUCH MORE than is expected. Excellent skills and craftsmanship.

B (4)

Does what is expected, plus more. Good skills and craftsmanship.

C (3)

Does what is expected. Meets all objectives of the assignment.

D (2)

Does not meet all objectives / requirements of the assignment.

Does not meet the due date.

F (1) (0)

Does little (1) or nothing (0)

Not turning in an assignment will result in a zero grade for the assignment. A zero grade can seriously damage the overall class grade.

Make-Up Work

All students are responsible for work missed when they were absent. It is the student's responsibility to ask the teacher for any make-up work upon return to class following an absence. Being absent does not excuse a student from an assignment. Enrolling late in class does not excuse the student from an assignment.

For regular class assignments, upon return to school, the student has 2 days to complete the assignment (as per Board policy).

For long-term assignments, the work must be turned in on the day the student returns to school.
