Kaleidocycles

A kaleidocyle is a rotating ring of triangular pyramids.

  1. On a piece of 18 x24 tag board, trace the Kaleidocycle pattern. Make sure it's precise!
  2. Fold along the lines you've traces. Make the folds flexible by folding forward and backward, and using a scissor handle to make a very sharp crease.
  3. Use pencils, colored pencils, markers, etc. to design your kaleidocycle.
  4. Glue together.

Texture Circles

Experimenting with different ways to create textures is a great exercise! We're going to do that, and then use those exercises to create a piece of art!

  1. Use two pieces of 12 x 18 white drawing paper.
  2. Cut into 4 x 6 pieces so that you have a total of 18 pieces. Write your name on the back of each paper.
  3. Experiment with creating texture using the directions provided by the teacher. Let dry.
  4. Cut into circular forms of varying sizes.
  5. Glue onto a piece of posterboard, making sure you fill in all areas as much as possible.

Collages / Tunnel Book

This project will be in two parts - first, you will make collages and then you will make a tunnel book using the collages as the "pages" of the book.

For this assignment, you will need magazines!!! Magazines with pictures in them! Find them NOW - don't wait till the day we start the assignment to scramble around looking for magazines. If you have more than 2 magazines, please bring them in for everyone to share!

Directions will follow....
